It's good you are thinking about this now instead of waiting until the last minute. My first suggestion is to review the HRCI Recertification Handbook and to check out the Pointers HRCI gives for the Strategic Management hours.

Determine what you have done or are currently doing to earn hours. Figure out how many hours you already have and then plan out your next two years based on what you will need to get. You may find it easier to get the hours than you think, but it takes a little planning. There are conferences, seminars, classes, and webinars that all give you credit. Knowing when these are offered will help in your overall re-certification plans.
