HRCP has agreed to provide our online study group a discount through the end of August!

You can receive $30 off the HRCP Program by ordering at www.hrcp.com/order and using HRSTUDY as the discount code.

I am willing to oversee an online study group by creating an outline of items to discuss and scheduling a time to meet (online of course) and talk about what we are studying. My thought was to have everyone read and study on their own through the end of October and then start up regular discussions throughout November and into December as needed.

Let me know if you are interested in participating!

In answer to your question, I passed the PHR in December using only the HRCP materials. I found the books to be very comprehensive, which was important to me since I am not an HR practitioner. Nearly every topic on my exam was covered in the HRCP books. I studied for about 4 months and put in over 150 hours.

I think sticking to my study schedule was vital. There is so much information that you really have to give yourself time to read it all. After reading through each unit, I would take the practice exam for that section. When I finished reading everything I went back and reviewed all of the books again. I studied the flash cards and sorted out those terms I knew and could apply and continued to review those I didn't know. The week prior to taking my exam I scanned the books again, took the HRCP comprehensive exam and HRCI assessment exams, scoring around 80% on both. My actual score correlated closely to the practice exams.

I would highly recommend the HRCP materials. The information you need to know is contained in the books, you just have to get it into your head! lol

I would also recommend taking the HRCI assessment exam. It was a good indicator of how I was doing and actually calmed my nerves and provided me with the confidence that I would pass.
